WhatsApp launches a new feature to avoid distractions and the accumulation of messages

 Meta's messaging app offers a better way to manage old and new unread conversations on Android phones.


WhatsApp is working on a new feature that aims to improve notification management for its millions of users. It is the ability to automatically clear the unread message count every time the app is opened.


This feature is currently being tested by some beta users and seems to be the ideal solution for those who want to avoid the accumulation of old notifications, focusing only on the most recent and relevant messages.


With the beta version of WhatsApp for Android 2.24.20.17, available on the Google Play Store , the popular platform seeks to implement an option that allows users to manage the badge count on the home screen.

This update offers more control over how notifications behave, providing two options to customize your unread message count.
